I notice that a fair proportion of StitchMinder downloads come from non-English-speaking countries. If anyone is interested in helping me translate StitchMinder into their native language, please contact me using the form on this site. Thanks!

Wow, I feel like I've made the big leagues! StitchMinder is showing up on the first page of the "Staff Favorites" section of the iTunes App Store:

Staff FavoriteStaff Favorite

Er, I guess this means that I've got to get cracking on the feature requests that have been popping up, eh?

It's been a little quiet for the past week or so on the development front. One of our house rabbits was very sick, and while he managed to pull through, it kind of put everything on the back burner. I'm still working on the design for KnitMinder and I appreciate all of the great suggestions that you have sent my way. To make it easier to communicate with me and each other, I've removed the requirement for creating an account before you can post on the forums. Hopefully, this will encourage more people to start conversations and topics there.

The StitchMinder 1.0.1 update is available in the App Store. This update adds a confirmation before a counter is reset. Apple has reported that, on occasion, updating an application will cause its data to be reset, so make sure you write down your row counts before updating! They are reportedly working on this issue.

I've submitted an update to StitchMinder which addresses two issues: it adds a confirmation message when you hit the Reset button to prevent you from accidentally erasing your counters, and it fixes a problem where you are able to count downwards below zero. The update should be available later this week.

In just two days, there have been over 1,200 downloads of StitchMinder! Sure, it's a free program, but I'm really happy that people are using it and have been encouraged by the positive feedback I've received. Keep those ideas coming! I'm working on the features for KnitMinder now and will post more details soon.

Thanks again to everyone who downloaded StitchMinder!

I'm finishing up the first version of StitchMinder, the free knitting stitch counter utility app for the iPhone and iPod touch. The app is ready to go (assuming we don't find any more bugs!) but there are quite a few steps that need to be completed to get it listed on the App Store. One of those steps is setting up a web site -- tada! -- but there are screenshots and promotional banners to do as well as writing the App Store copy, terms of service, and all that. Once this bookkeeping is done, we will be launched!
