I was going to make a joke here about speaking "Android" as "1101 1011 0101", but it didn't quite come together. Anyway, I would love to have KnitMinder on the Android Store, but it would mean rewriting the application in a completely new programming language (Java vs. Objective-C) as well as making sure that the features of the two versions are always in sync. I don't have enough time at the moment to tackle a project that large, but it is definitely something I've considered.
I have the app StitchMinder for my iPod Touch. I love it. I do not always have it with me but I always have my Motorolla Android phone with me. It would be a great app to have on my phone as well. I also have a suggestion for the current ipod touch StitchMinder. A knitter and a person that crochets always have more than one project going. we like to have more than one project going so that we do not get board of doing the same thing too long. I would like to see the app StitchMinder be able to load differnt projects in one app. As of right now it can only be used for one project at a time. I hope my suggestions will help the StitchMinder and the KnitMinder to be a better app.
Thanks for your comments! As I've written in the previous comment to this post, I am probably not going to be able to create an Android version of KnitMinder and StitchMinder due to the amount of time required to rewrite the applications for that mobile operating system. It's like translating a book from English to German: not only do you have to do the initial translation, you need to have other people proofread your work. Also, any time a new edition in English comes out, you have to update the German edition as well. Because I work on these apps as a hobby, I just don't have the time and resources to do a translation like this.
I'm glad that you are finding StitchMinder useful. If you need to track more than one project, please consider trying out KnitMinder, which has this ability. There is a free version of KnitMinder called KnitMinder Lite which works the same as the full version ($2.99) but limits the number of projects that you can save at one time. The idea is that you can try out the free version to see if you like the application before you buy.
Android
Android version would rock.
